At Squish and Charlie’s, we believe grooming should be less “ruff day at the salon” and more “damn, who’s that fine floof?” Our grooming program is designed for real dogs with real dog problems—mud butt, wild whiskers, crusty toes, the works. From full-service spa days to quick touch-ups (Hello, face, fanny, and feet!), our team pampers your pup like they’re royalty… just maybe smellier. We use gentle, high-quality products and take our time to make sure every dog struts out looking fresh and feeling fine.
We only groom a maximum of two dogs at a time to keep their experience easy and positive. In addition to our normal grooming packages, we also created a reactive dog grooming process, a rescue dog process and a puppy 101 option. Our goal is to make grooming as enjoyable as possible for your pup and you.
Whether it’s your Goldendoodle’s glow-up or your Frenchie’s first bath that doesn’t end in tears (yours, not theirs), we’re here for it. Our team works with all coat types, personalities, and wiggle levels—with zero judgment and a lot of snacks. Spicy Peanut (Reactive Grooming Program)
At Squish and Charlie’s, we love a complicated little pup. Whether your dog is anxious, shy, a little spicy, or has been politely “uninvited” from another salon (we don’t judge), Squish and Charlie’s is here to help. This program was built for them. Our Spicy Peanut Program is designed specifically for those sensitive souls who need a slower, gentler approach to feeling safe and fabulous. Our goal is to help reactive dogs learn that grooming doesn’t have to be scary—it can actually be kinda nice.
This is an 8-week progressive program (running on consecutive Fridays where we take our time, earn your dog’s trust, and introduce grooming tools one paw at a time. If your dog needs more space or time to decompress, we’ll happily extend to 10 weeks. We will go at their pace to keep the experience positive. Our goal? A confident, happy pup who can handle a full groom without fear or panic—and maybe even enjoy the process. We don’t rush greatness.
Timeline Breakdown:
Week 1: Full assessment and bonding with our team
Weeks 2–4: Continuation of bonding and an introduction to basic grooming tools such as nail clippers, brushes, low-stress handling
Weeks 5–6: A gradual desensitization to clippers, dryers, bathing stations—no pressure, just progress
Weeks 7–8: Grooming based on your dog’s comfort level, with your groomer by their side like the loyal sidekick they are
*We may request an additional couple of weeks if your pup needs more time—because we don’t do one-size-fits-all care.
This program isn’t about “fixing” your dog—it’s about working with them, at their pace, in a calm, supportive environment. We use positive reinforcement, a ton of patience, and yes… a few bribes. (Peanut butter is basically currency around here.)

New Home, Who’s This? Grooming Program
Welcome home, little one!
We know rescue pups come with big hearts… and sometimes big fears, too. That’s why our Rescue Dog/Newly Adopted Program is designed to help your new family member feel safe, loved, and gently introduced to the world of grooming—without stress, pressure, or scary first impressions.
Over the course of 6 weeks (with the option to extend to 8 if needed), your dog will build a relationship with one dedicated groomer, at their own pace. We’ll start with a gentle behavioral assessment, then move into trust-building, soft handling, and slow, positive exposure to grooming tools like brushes, nail clippers, and warm baths. By the end, your pup will be feeling confident, pampered, and ready for their full groom—tail wags and all.
Timeline Breakdown:
Week 1: Welcome assessment + bonding time
Weeks 2–4: Relationship building + slow intros to grooming tools
Weeks 5–6: Full grooms adapted to your dog’s comfort and confidence
(Optional Weeks 7–8 if we feel your pup needs a little more time — we’re in no rush)
💡 To keep progress smooth, this program must begin within 30 days of adoption.
